Some day hiking at Tishomingo State Park

A little New Year's Day hiking with the family to celebrate the start of a new year. We went about 5.5 miles at Tishomingo State Park in Northeast Mississippi. It is a beautiful and peaceful place - one of the best places to hike in Mississippi.

Looking good. Nothing beats time in the woods with the family.

Yeah it was a beautiful day for it here. Normally, I watch football all day on New Year's Day but this was a much better choice.

The only thing is we were lazy this morning and waited too long to leave and that wound up cutting our hike short when it started getting dark but, otherwise, it was a PERFECT day!

I grew up not far from there and worked with guys from Belmont. Used to play some music at the park. Next time I am over that way I will have to check it out. Is the swinging bridge still there? I normally come down the Natchez Trace. Natchez Trace has a few hiking places. I really liked your pictures, it looked like a lot of fun.
