2014 Arkansas Ozark Hang - March 14-16

Right now, it would probably not work, the Buffalo was VERY high, fast, and cold.

I might see if I can get dropped off at Steel Creek and do an overnight to Kyles. Not because I think it should possibly take me two days to hike 7.4 miles, but because I would WANT to take 2 days. Also I want to make sure to take it easy on my ankle. I already know this is not recommended by my ortho, I figure this way I would be cause a little less of a set back to my recovery.

The more I thought about it the more I wanted to help you out. Started looking at trails. There is a trail called the Old River Trail. It leaves Steel Creek and pretty much follows the river to Kyle's Landing. Looking at my map the trail hits a few really slow rises no higher than 1000' and the river is at 900'. You get the hike in without the difficult trail.

Thanks. I took it several years ago at a family reunion at the state park...before I had a real hammock. It is such a beautiful place, I SO want to make it to this yrs. hang.
