It was great to check out your setup and drool a little. I might have to go get me one of those eno's for car camping and short b-packs with my hubby type. It just looks like such a great way to spend time! I like this shot best:

My own hammock still needs some dialing in, methinks, but it sure would have advantages! Maybe I could even learn how to sit still for more than 10 minutes...

Hey Wendy, thanks for taking that picture. That was our favorite time on the whole trip, kicking back, sipping wine, with the blues drifting down from the speaker above. Now that's what hanging is all about!

Had to buy a Doublenest. Comes next week. Don't tell the wife.

Congrats on a great purchase. Your wife will love it. And she didn't hear about it from me

A buddy of mine has the micros (I have the pro). He has to readjust his every night because of the stretch.

The multipros have twice the loops.

The micros are good, but everyone I know has to adjust them constantly because of stretch (a real PITA).

Honestly, look up some custom solutions. I just put together a tri-glide strap system with two dutch clips and it actually cut down on weight totally because I was able to get rid of the biners too.

Yeah, those stock biners are really heavy! I would skip the slap straps altogether and check out a custom polypro webbing kit from Arrowhead Equipment as a much better option if I were doing this now.

I've used the pro version for over a year & a half, and have had minimal stretch. The only thing was the lack of adjustability w/o an attached rl.(think there are only 4 loops per strap) Not a bad product imo, especially in wooded areas w many hang options. Still use them occasionally, but usually go with homemade rig to address the 2 aforementioned issues.

I slept in my Doublenest with the standard slap straps one night last weekend and could not notice much stretch at all. Even with two people sitting in the hammock at one point. It did remind me once again just how roomy and comfortable that hammock is. While I normally stay with my Traveler for backpacking due to weight considerations (19oz vs 12oz w/o suspension), I'll definitely continue using this setup for trailhead camping or shorter hikes. At least so far, I haven't found the limited adjustability of the slap straps to be an issue. I'll probably upgrade the suspension at some point though.

I actually sent my slap straps back because of the stretch. Over time it becomes unacceptable and you'll be readjusting constantly. Now I use 4mm rope that doesn't stretch at all.
