I'm a noshow. My wife rescheduled my annual physical for the 19th am. Then arrival in NE VA the 20th, my baby granddaughters birthday, with plans to stay at least thru the party on the 23.

Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
It won't be long now. Woot woot. I just placed an order for the 2014 Goat Island Grand Champ flag. This flag will be the prize for the winner of the " Yet to be named " competition
Remember to win, you have to be present.
If anyone is planning on showing up early, please let me know so I can add an extra day to the reservation.

Since this event in the past has only been a designated "two-night" event, this year we will have the island for three nights. Saturday has always been the "Beau-Low-Frog-Country-Boil-Stew" and this will remain the same for this year. I haven't heard how many will plan to leave on Sunday or plan to stay Sunday and leave on Monday (Memorial Day). This is a new venture for us and it dawned on us that we have an extra opportunity to dine together for those that are interested in staying until Monday. Curious to how much interest there would be in a second "community dinner"? Pot Luck style? Suggestions?
We are game for for whatever "floats" your fancy. Maybe a mexican taco bar? Just throwing out some random thoughts...

Gumbo & I are always ready to stay an extra night in the Piney Woods! 'specially in SC!!
I have expressly forbidden Gumbo from taking over meal planning so she can chill and enjoy being there, but I'm sure she'll be up for whatever the planned group feed is.
We're chilllin' and counting the days. OMG OMG OMG!! It's less than a month away! Time to switch to prep condition alpha, clear out the living room and start staging gear!

So many trees, so little time...
I'm glad you two are in for an extra day! We have a few families that are planning to attend this event even though they are not 100% hangers yet. There will be some of those "artificacts" that will be erected on the island for those that have not experienced the "elevated" comforts of camping yet. Gonna be a good time time to show them what they are missing out on. I'm kinda liking the idea of a Mexican night and looking for feedback, either positive or negative, to the idea.
Look for more concrete details to come in the upcoming days.... guess its time to start gearing up for Island Life !!!

Well you know I'm good for beignets one morning. I will bring whatever you tell me. Mexican is a good idea since leftover tortillas can be used to make MM breakfast burritos which have the added plus of easy cleanup. I'm willing to do whatever you need of course but I'm going to sit back and wait to be told (or do my best to anyway).

There's a chance that I'll be there. Better to be on the list and not show or better to not be on the list and show? Please advise.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
We have the "Maybe" column that you sign up in. Ideally we have the list for getting a general idea of how to plan for meals. Be glad to have you if you can make it. Even if it is for a day, night, whatever.
