Haha, no problem! I should be there by noon. Before, if I can get my stuff together sooner.

Growing up, dad and I would go to the coast and go shrimping on weekends - we had fresh shrimp all year. Before freezing what we caught, we'd run a broom handle through a cooler FULL of the shrimp we caught and gather the "nose hairs" that way. They'd stick to the handle and we'd grab a handful of the hairs and pull a mess of shrimp out of the cooler by those nose hairs and just sit there and pop heads off. Nothing says "success" like having a dangling bundle of bodiless heads in your hand.
Wish CW had said something - I'll be in McClellanville (arguably the best place to buy fresh shrimp on the coast) tomorrow, I could have scooped some up off the boat.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
Is it Friday yet?

Thanks to Gresh for bailinf us out with our Shrimp run this year. Wando seafood went out of business and the shrimp cost at Shem Creek more than doubled. We almost had to resort to frozen shrimp.
A quick call to Gresh and...
Fresh local shrimp is back on the menu.
Woo Hoo.
Thanks Gresh.

Here in Florida, we take our bugs pretty serious. But I don't use a bug net unless absolutely necessary. That said, when everything is quiet and there's that ONE mosquito outside the net that sounds like an Apache Attack Helicopter, that's when I'm grateful for the net.
So what's it going to be? Will there be enough wind to keep the moskies and their little friends away? Or is a net a must?

So many trees, so little time...
Last year, my whole crew and I did not use bug nets. This year, I may bring mine, just to have in case I need it. I'd rather have it and not need it than be stuck on the island without it wishing I had it.

+1 ... Bugs tend to vary. One year we are bug free the next year we had several. Chickenwing and I have had this discussion before and there is no exact science to predict a perfect solution. Guessing due to the variation of May's temps kinda dictates the bug patter. I use a bug net every time unless there is a concern for frostbite, then I know I am safe. I don't like getting up for pests at 3:00 am to try and put the net on. That being said, several do opt to go without a bug net, guess it's personal preference. Murphy's Law applies to this question.
I will say say that if you can handle a June weekend in FL without the net, then you will most likely be fine... However, insert the liability disclaimer here!
