We'll be kicking around the night of the 7th after we get off the trail and all day on the 8th. Where's your restaurant at?

I just did a loop from Cascade Canyon to Paintbrush Canyon from the String Lake. Stopped for lunch at Lake Solitude. Definitely more snow than I had prepared for and not too many hanging spots higher up. I did Death Canyon earlier in the season, and I think I remember seeing a few good spots to hang at, but the snow could have changed that by now. Make sure you check out Phelps Lake if you do Death Canyon though!

I think we are going to push through from Marion to Alaska basin and camp there. Have a permit for the canyon though.

Someone said there was good trees in the valley below Lake Solitude. I have a bivy I'm bringing in case I need to go to the ground.

Well, I was looking for an update to see how the trip went. I am planning a trip from the top of the sky lift down through Death Canyon across the Alaska Basin and back up through Cascade Canyon and Paintbrush past Solitude Lake and then down to Jennie Lake and then back to the Ski lift. 7 days in total. I am taking an air matress in case I have to go to ground but using the hammock as my bivy using my hiking poles to raise the ridgeline and tarp. Let us know how your trip went and anything I need to look for. Thanks. I have been to Solitude Lake twice, once covered in ice and snow on May 31st and in July surrounded by flowers. But I have never done paintbrush canyon or any of the back side of Tetons. Both trips were around Jennie Lake and up Cascade Canyon and back down staying about two days each time. This coming trip will be a nice hike. (Or at least I am hoping)
