    hoh river trail hike.

Hey guys I'm planning a trip to hike the hoh river in Washington sometime this year. I've been scouring the web for any info on hammock camping on this trail and could not find any real answers. Have any of you hammock camped this trail and if you did at what sites did you set up camp and how was your experience?

Long tree straps! Ample sites. Backcountry permit required. Great place. Coil, Zugcat and I enjoyed our summer trip hanging. I have tented this trail a bit too.

Go to the "Advanced Search" function of HF. In the "Key words" box, type: " "hoh river" " (be sure to use the quotes). Be sure the "Search entire posts" function is chosen and the "Show results as posts" option is checked at the bottom. Nothing else. Don't try to limit the forums or the dates. You'll get several threads about trips along the Hoh. Even a video, I believe. Good luck!

I spent 5 days doing a solo on this trail in March of 2012. No people, deeper snow day after day, no rain, and was told not to worry about paying for a permit because March is off season. Water was clear and cold. temps were low 30's night but 60's during the day. Let me know what other questions you have as well as gear, food, etc.
