How about pulling together Ti spreader bars? Ti Joe has the material but bulk buying is probably needed to get the price down.

This wasn't my intent. I was just hoping someone would offer Ti bridge spreader bars at a decent price.

I suppose heavier spreader bars could support a gathered end on each side. Getting in and out would be very tricky and the tarp would have to be the size of a circus tent...
