    UQP users

I just put in my order for an Under Quilt protector this morning. I figure this would help me extend my incubator into those nights that it dips into the teens and possibly the single digits.

For those of you with the Under Quilt protector. How often does it go with you and does it make a large difference for you?

    Always

I use the UQP most of the time with a short underquilt and a sock when not using the UQP. I late fall, winter and early spring I use a full length under quilt without the UQP.

Best value of any hammock gear I have.

    Thank you 2QZQ.

I add the UQP anytime I use my underquilts now... just seems that in addition to added warmth, it keeps my quilts cleaner/dryer without too much added weight or bulk.

I also use my UQP without an UQ in spring or early fall when it is just enough breeze to cool your butt thru the hammock, but an UQ isn't needed yet.

I pretty much always carry my UQP except during the hot summers. Agree, one of my favorite peices of gear and it weighs next to nothing.

I bought mine last spring and used it all summer with my summer quilt and asym tarp to provide a bit more protection from rain splatter. and of course great for colder temps to cut the breeze and add some warmth. good luck to you!

    Lamboy,

You aren't wrong. It's a minimal investment for really augmenting your kit. I got mine from 2QZQ and the only time I don't use it is when I am using my WB Traveler Sock in cold, cold weather.

To answer your question, you can realistically expect a 10* boost underneath if hung properly. (In my experience). And as others have pointed out...... in the warmer weather, when you start getting a little cbs in the wee hours or your shoulders start to pick up a little chill, this will pretty much eliminate that.

    All the best !

Its a great piece of gear. I usually only use mine in temps twenty and below simply BC I find in temps above that my quilts keep me warm. But that extra barrier between the UQ and air gives ya that little bit of extra warmth that doesn't go unnoticed.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Just last night placed an order with 2QZQ for my UQP and I hope in time to use it at the PSH get-together in 2 & 1/2 weeks.
