I've got an HH Explorer UL, by at your own risk, you might want to research calf pressure or calf ridge, HH's are notoriously associated with a problem with a ridge of the hammock causing pressure on your calves. Mine doesn't always have that problem but at times it's really annoying! HH's aren't the only ones with that complaint, but it does seem to be one of the more frequent offenders.

Good luck, be patient and go to a group hang if your schedule permits to try out various setups.

    Bottom entry is great.
But it makes me feel like I'm being born every time I crawl out. haha

Due to Hennessy first losing my hammock, then sending me the wrong one I actually have one of both (they let me keep the 1st wrong one with the bottom entry while they sent me the size entry one that I had ordered) I have tried the bottom entry. I can really see how it would be good in bad weather or with bugs. What I found is that it seemed to be really hard to open when I was in it. Possibly this would wear a bit and be easier. Plus then I was worried I would break the opening by opening it too wide or something.

But I have not had an opportunity to try the size zip yet.

    Hennessy Hammock Pros and Cons

The latest annoyance with bottom entry is how loud the Velcro is first thing in the morning

The real annoyance is having the velcro. It is not needed but enough people whined to get it added.

I had the bottom entry, and loved it, but found that the velcro got stuck in my hair, no matter what I did, so I sold it and got the zip model. I considered sending the bottom entry for the zipper mod, but dealing with customs and exchange rates etc, would have driven the cost too high.

Donna here...If things are done correctly...customs fees can be legally avoided because the hammock is sent from and back to country of origin.
