    Walls of Jericho

Anyone hiked the walls of Jericho trail in southern Tennessee / northern Alabama and if so any info on it ? How difficult is it to hike north to south ?

About 2 years ago there was a big group hang there.
The Trip Report had a ton of pictures and writeups.
    Might be worth searching for.

I use to hike there back in the 70's. Grewup in N Alabama.

I have hiked there a couple of times, at least one day hike and one over-nighter. Not difficult to hike north to south ... or south to north.

If you'd like to see a photo album of the over-nighter--

Its about 3.25 miles down. The climb out is more challenging, but not a problem. A winter hang should be awesome down in the canyon. The ice hangs off of the walls and it is breathtaking.

go in on the Tennessee side and hike out on the Alabama side. You will need a shuttle to do this but at least you get the whole trail done.

As I recall, you can only park over-night at the Tennessee trailhead?

I have always been able to park on the Alabama side overnight in the TH parking lot. The AL TH and the TN TH are only about two miles apart by road. I have used only one car and hiked to the other TH at the beginning of my hike.
