    Kelty Noah 16x16 mod advice

I found a Kelty Noah pretty cheap but am realizing it is WAY too big. I am thinking a 12x12 would be better or I need to figure a way to modify this one, or just ask for assistance like I am now... so any ideas? Thanks Travis

I will look into it. I was thinking of altering it so I could have doors. Maybe I could trade it for another tarp too.

If you car camp with a group a 16x16 makes a great community tarp.
Just make a ridgeline and 4 tieout for it.

12x12's are super for a tarp with doors no modding is required.

    Oh man, 16x16, sweet.
Me I wouldn't change a thing, like o&b says, a great foul weather gathering place.
12x12 is another sweet setup, you'll find a deal sooner or later.

    Can't have too many tarps.

The Kelty Noah tarps I have seen are HEAVILY cat cut and are measured on the diagonal. A 12' Noah tarp is under 9' long and wide before the cat cuts.

    I'm not following? My Noah is a perfect square 12' x 12'

    The newer ones aren't squared.

This is mine in porch mode, notice the curve on the bottom back wall. It's like that for all four sides:

Here's my 12x12 also with the doors closed in. You get good room inside, especially if you add side pull-outs:

Thanks for the pics on the example for the set up. I will keep working with the 16x16 to see how to make it work better.

I have a friend that works at REI and every summer he has different gear to bring out. He has had an assortment of Noah tarps and all the ones he brought out were not even remotely straight-sided. I don't know if he got some specialty models or what, but those are the ones I have had experience with.

Looks from the pics that they are much less agressively cut than what I saw, which is great, another option! Sorry if I lead you astray!
