Hello from Nashville, TN 1st Hang

Well I have been putting some gear together over the holidays and finally got out to test it all out. Had a great solo overnight hang at Savage Gulf. It got down to 30 degrees and I got a little chilled around 4am. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys on the trail. It's been 15yrs sense I've done any backpacking but use to go all the time. Hammock camping has gotten me fired up again. I have my pack weight down to 20#. Very stoked!!
Enjoy your coffee and hang with pride-

Nice first hang except for the webbing.

There is a Nashville Backpackers meetup and we are having a beginner backpacking trip this coming weekend.

there will be tenters and hammockers so you can pickup some pointers on hanging.

Also there is a winter hang that Neo is putting on at Meriwether Lewis right off the Natchez Trace. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=85091

Welcome to the madness! If you might be interested in the beginner hike this weekend, shoot me a private message. It's about half and half right now, hangers and tenters. We could use another hammocker, to beef up our numbers and show 'em who's boss! LOL

Thanks for the invites Ewker,fluffy1216,Rainman, I am looking forward to getting out more but have a few irons in the fire with some work I'm doing this week end. My wife is encouraging me to get out more and sending me some meet up links. I think I'll try to make the winter hang in Feb. Just put in an order with arrowhead gear for tree straps so no more surprise drops. Look forward to meeting the Tennessee hammock heads soon.

Welcome to the enlightened hang, from Central Florida.

There are a few TN members coming to the 4th Annual Florida Hang this weekend and I'm sure they will be in your neck of the woods soon enough to help you however you need.

You have a great group of hanger up there and take full advantage of their smarts.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

So, like mine, is she telling you to "take a hike" and you think she means it kindly?!!!
