I am hopefully getting my 0° incubator and 20° borrow tomorrow in the mail. My long waited for first quilts. Supposed to get down to 5° tomorrow night and of course I'll be out testing them out

I had my first test hang (in the back yard in case I needed to bail) a couple of days ago and was using a 20 degree burrow and 20 degree incubator. It got down to 22 degrees just before sunrise and I wasn't even chilled. It made me wonder just how low I could take these. I was just wearing a t shirt, shorts, and black rock down hat.

I have gone into the teens with wind with my 20* incubator and burrow. I don't even think I had it adjusted properly.
Spent an hour outside last night in my Phoenix 20° with 1oz overstuff and a zlite pad under my legs. Wearing a bamboo long sleeve shirt and patagonia R1, mid weight wool bottoms and wool socks. Also I had a pretty empty stomach.
Was 8°F with some wind gusts.
One cold spot on my left lower back after about 10 minutes but adjusted and all was well. Felt pretty warm all over after that. Placed a down jacket around my hammock foot end after 30 minutes and noticed the added warmth for the last 30 minutes.
I would have been pretty confident staying out there overnight. Perhaps an UQ protector would have been the ticket due to the higher winds.

It was a 2QZQ breathable UQ protector. I've heard nothing but good about them so figured it was worth a try. I'm reluctant to try it again, maybe just for big rain storms are in the forecast?
Or did the order get mixed up and I got the silnylon non-breathable instead? I reiterated the "ripstop breathable" in the notes though, so it's unlikely.
markr6 - Maybe you had it too loose and with wind and rain the water pooled?
Check out this recent post about the 2QZQ UQP -

Donna here....you should have received a breathable UQP. That is what we have recorded. I make so few black silnylon UQPs, I doubt you accidently received one. I always make sure I double check the silnylon orders to verify that is what they really want, and are aware of the possible condensation issues. One way for you to know for sure....when you fold or bunch it up...the air will puff out of it easily. If it was sil...it would balloon up and not want to compact easily.
I'm sorry you are having issues...I read your post in another thread...sounds like you hung in a very high humidity situation. Tim uses his UQP all the time and hasn't experienced any issues with it. Hopefully you can have confidence in trying it again and with success.
