    eno doublenest rigging help

I was given the ENO doublenest hammock, and am now looking at rigging and tarps, on the cheep.
The ENO has carabiners but I'm not sure as to the way to go for straps- what do you recommend?
Additionally, I'm not sure what to do for a tarp. I'm think of utilizing the rain fly from my msr carbon reflex, but would appreciate your input!
    Many thanks!

On the quick and cheap, a blue tarp from Walmart or similar.
Lines - any polyester line or strap rated (working load, not break strength) for your more than your weight.

    A better option
A hex tarp, sil nylon, DIY or purchased
    Whoopie slings or polyester straps

I've used a lot of hammocks and made a few. The ENO DN is way up the list of comfort.

Don't buy the Eno straps. Expensive and heavy
The ENO bugnet is very well made, but heavy. There are lighter and less expensive options.

Order a set of straps from one of the vendors and you can start with the standard ENO binners. You will probably eventually want to switch those out for Whoopies or webbing and buckles. Of the three hammocks I own, ENO is the most comfortable. My son has many more than I do and he loves his ENO.

I've got the double nest. I got rid of the biners and cut the thick black cord out of the end channel. I then threaded a whoopie sling through the end channel and secured it with a larks head. Way, way nicer and more adjustable than with the biner.

Alternatively, you could get some long climbing runners/slings. These are sewn loops of different fabrics, usually dyneema now. Wrap that around the tree, secure with a larks head, and clip the biner on to that. To adjust, you just move the knot of the larks head to a different position on the tree. Lots of fiddling, but I've spent many nights tied up like this with no issue, sometimes with two people in the hammock.

If you ever un whip it, this is what's inside.

Agreed on the straps; heavy, expensive and in my case, slip or stretch on larger trees.
I love the hammock, but I'm searching for a better suspension system and ditching the heavy biners.

Here is a link to a YouTube video that I used to change mine. Only exception is I used a continuos loop and connected to the whoopie sling with a Dutch whoopie hook. I ordered the continuos loops with the hooks attached.

I was able to put rings on mine using the original whipping, without un whipping. I had I work with the knot a little. It's my yard and boat hammock, so weight isn't a concern. I prefer rings and straps for speed of setup and ease of adjustment.

    Thanks for the input!
I found the following video, but before I got this route I thought I'd get your collective wisdom:

I'm still up in the air about a blue tarp of using my rain fly from my carbon reflex tent...
    Thanks!

I love my ENO. The fabric is soft and quiet if you shuffle around. I modded mine by replacing the heavy black knot gather rope with dyneema loops. The buried knot in the big black cord was creating a "spine" in the folds. I also replaced the heavy steel carabiners with OZ biners, and removed the clip webbing from the pocket.

I use a combination of whoopies looped to tree huggers for suspension. The tree huggers are too short by themselves, so the whoopie is like an adjustable extension to the hugger.

edit: I've used the heavier Hennesy Hex Fly for years and it is still going strong. I have replaced the original lines on it, though, after they wore out. The HH Hex Flys can be gotten at a pretty good price and are well worth it if you don't want to go to the next level of tarp sophistication.
