new diy hammock what options to try??

Im ready to start my second diy hammock. I have the material 90 x 156 crinkle taffita x 2. my first was a double layer 11 footer also from tablecloths. I went from knotted ends to a sewn channel with quad knotty mods. I do like it but I have noticed some calf pressure and wanted to try going bigger and longer and see how that works for me. Im 6'6'' and 275 or so. I have been looking at the diy bridge options and other additional footbox options etc. I have gotten great info on here and just wanted to see what options that yall might suggest on this second diy hammock.

Ok maybe I should ask a different way. For those who have built a few or many hammocks what things did you change or add as you learned from your mistakes in future hammocks?

I hope somebody else will throw some ideas your way. Unfortunately at 5'2", most of what I've learned about gear making has been in an effort to make things smaller!

So your having calf pressure with an 11' hammock? Try lengthening your ridge line. If your already in an 11' hammock and it ain't working, then I'd suggest going bridge or playing with your ridgeline length.

^^^Calf pressure in an 11 footer is all about sag or lack thereof.
Hang the hammock with a lot of sag and without using a ridge line, then work back from there until the calf ridge shows. An adjustable RL is a good option to use for this and they're an easy DIY project.

I was able to eliminate calf pressure when I hit 89% of length. The pressure I experienced at the previous 78%~ of length was minimal compared to shorter hammocks but was nevertheless, present. You can eliminate calf pressure in more than one way. I found this out by testing with multiple hammocks with all UCR ridge lines. I agree that you can eliminate it by pivoting your body more and shortening a ridge-line but this has its limits based on hammock width. This is why I do my own testing, I recommend the same for everybody else.
