Laying Asym (head left to right) and laying on the left side I find it more comfortable putting my legs in the middle portion between the two hammocks and laying more asym (or at a angle). Placing the pad in the middle near my feet allows me to place my feet on the padd because they extend outside the lay design of each independent hammock in the vertex.

Makes sense now. Good luck with the Mrs!

Did you get a chance to test it with the under quilts yet Barchetta?

Actually got to hang it out last weekend and my wife and i had a nice sleep in it. I hung two 20 deg incubators under it and it worked out great. I removed the stock suspension and put whoopies w/drip rings from DIY gear supply and tree straps. I was able to clip the s-biners from the incubators to the drip rings and it worked out perfect. One thing to note is that you can't use clarks drip rings with the s-biners, the rings are too thick.

When i originally received the vertex i tried to hang my 0 deg incubator w/ stock suspension to it and quickly found out that the stock suspension was WAY to long. When i ordered the incubators from adam i had him make the main suspension 12" shorter then stock. they fit perfect and aren't too short to fit on my other 10 ft hammocks.

They do require extenders to fit on my 11 ft hammocks though.

How comfy do the tall folks find it? My wife and I are both just over six feet.

I'm 5'10" and it's just comfortable enough for me. Not sure how it would be for anyone taller. My wife if 5'4" and she has no complaints. She can't tell the difference between it and her regular 10' gathered end. Clark's website say 6'4" max height for user and I just can't see it.

I had a chance to lay in FreeHome's vertex and I love it. Maybe I can find one for $25 somewhere, lol.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I got mine from a member for $450 with the tarp. He bought it during their sale. That's about as good a deal as I've seen.

Maybe a diy version for tall people is in order. My wife hates that we can't sleep in the same hammock while camping. We sleep together in our king size Mayan hammock in the summer, though she likes it more than me...I prefer not sweating buckets...
