    MD AT Overnight

Just a couple pics from a rainy overnight with a buddy on Monday. Not much story to tell... The Superfly was awesome, provided a huge protected area and kept me dry despite a full night of rain.

I made the mistake of letting my whoopie's tail hang touching my hanging pack... Ended up with some water on the pack but not enough to worry about. Mental note; check the whoopie's tails when it's raining.

All in all a fun little get-away.

Looks like a nice trip. When I went to the Fall NEHHA 2013, it rained a healthy amount overnight. As I went to bed, I somehow pulled the tail of the whoopie right into the hammock with me. Of course, the water dripped straight into my downy sanctuary, soaking UQ, TQ, hammock and me. It wasn't very cold that night (otherwise, I'd have woken up shivering), but I woke up in a panic thinking I'd sprung a leak in my cuben fiber tarp.

It took about 15 minutes of forensic hammock analysis to pinpoint the error of my ways.

    ORF,
I like how you have the Superfly strung out. I don't think I have seen that before.

Hopefully the drag strip wasn't running that night, I made the mistake of camping there on a weekend and spent the first half of the night listening to the 1/4 mi wail.

Sweet! Oh, I would love to get out for a Weekday over-nighter before the weather warms up.

Those rocks at the spring make it look like that may be the Pogo Camp area ... just thinking back .... don't remember a big pool there, but with all the rain lately I guess its possible.

Keep it up. I love the

    Old Rag,

The NEHHA had it's annual winter hang last week-end. There is a thread in the trip report area if you wanted to check it out.

We had a SOLID day of rain last Friday night and all day Saturday. Approximately 4-5 inches of rain. Just when you thought it couldn't rain any harder, it did.

That being said, my Superfly with both sets of doors closed, kept me dry as a bone, excepting the condensation resulting from the unseasonably warm temps mixing with the humidity and frozen ground.

I said several times last week that if ever my Superfly was going to leak, that was when, and it never did.

I'm with you, it's a real asset to have in crappy weather.

All the best and glad that your hang was fun.

Old rag, looks like a nice trip. Makes me wish I was out hiking. By any chance is your username have to do with Old Rag Mountain in Virginia, if so I live about ten minutes away from there.
