bought my first Tarp the superfly

I just got into hammocking (havent even done a single overnight hang) and after reading all the posts and watching Shug's videos, I decided on getting Superfly along with a set of cinch buckles (i figured i could then use my climbing webbing for the suspension). Now I shall experience the wait I've read so much about!

I bought 2 of those Yukon Outfitters mosquito hammocks for $30 each off woot. I figured that would be a good starting hammock? But then I started watching Shug and figured I would splurge and get a nice tarp.

    Welcome to HF.

I think most climbing webbing is nylon which is known to stretch excessively for use as a hammock suspension. Polyester webbing is prefered for it's low stretch characteristics.

Would I be able to find some Poly webbing from a ratchet strap tie down at harbor freight (or is there a more cost effective spot)?
If so what should the working load and breaking load be at?

    You will enjoy the SuperFly!
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

You should be able to go to either REI or Hudson Trail to get some poly webbing cut to length. Then you could sew some loops on the end. Or, Dutch at dutchwaregear.com has some nice tree hugger straps with loops already sewn.

Solid choice. I can't imagine being dissatisfied with a SF, but even if you are they sell in literally minutes here on the forum... For nearly the new price.
