Got mine this morning, but being only a few miles from the distribution center probably helped me out on that. The stuff is certainly not 7/64th's, it has to be 2mm. The New England product feels much more rigid than the Samson Amsteel. This would be the equivalent to dynaglide in specs.

Got the Back order Notice.. Looks like We hangers, bought the entire stock of 7/64" .

The Notice I got, was 2-13-2014 when the new batch will show up.. and mailed to me. Fresh rope is good.

Got mine today. Made my first set of whoopie slings! Thanks for listing this sale and all the great info you all put here. My grandfather was a boater and I remember him doing similar rope work for rigging as a kid. He has since passed but, I'm sure he is someplace proud of how squared away those whoopie slings look.

It's hard to believe how small this stuff is for 1000lb capacity. I received mine yesterday and am just thinking of the possibilities of what to do with it.

No shipping cost but did have to pay sales tax (if there is a West Marine in the state you are buying in). 50 feet for $7.80 including tax. 50 feet was the most it would let me purchase. Hope this helps someone.
Missed the 40% off sale, but west marine.com still lists the 7/64ths Dynema line at $0.26/ft. Ordered 100 ft online Monday evening -- and then found out that this was sold out/back ordered.

Called their customer service Tuesday morning to check on how long backorder status would be. The service rep didn't know, but checked and found the line in stock at the West Marine store in Annapolis, Maryland and he gave me the phone number.

The store in Annapolis quoted the same price, $0.26/ft + free shipping (UPS ground). With tax, $27.56 for 100 ft, shipped. I placed the order Tuesday morning and it arrived promptly this (Thursday) morning in SC. Can't ask for better than that.

The 1/8th in. is listed at $0.44/ft, but I wasn't sure the extra cost for an additional 1/64th in diameter was worth the cost, as the 7/64ths line is plenty strong for my purposes, even at 250#.

In any case, thank you for the heads up on the line and the source.

7/64" is rated at 1600lbs breaking strength. If you stay close to a 30° hang angle you will have at least a 5:1 ratio to your working load. Amsteel is good stuff for hammock suspension.

still waiting on my backorder has anyone received their product after being on back order? I tracked my order number and they say my 1/8" is in process but 7/64 is still backordered

they list that stuff as single braid, not hollow braid. You can't make whoopie slings from a sinlge braid rope. Those that recieved it, is yours hollow?

It's specs say "no cover". It is a single braid hollow core rope.
