Thanks to everyone for their kind comments, feedback and opinions. I'll hopefully make some more progress this weekend and get some more photos up. If anyone has a really good way of creating a rolled hem across differential layers of slippery Argon, I'd love to hear it. I did one end last night, and it was painstakingly slow. I'd like to avoid a repeat of that experience at the other end when the quilt is full of down!

I messed up marking a couple baffle lines and I just took a damp washcloth and wiped them off with light-med pressure. Chalk would have not worked at all as it never would have made it to the sewing machine, and I had the same worry as you with permanent marker or grease pencil about it showing through the final product. Looks like Sewline makes one - and you can get different colored leads as well to contrast with your fabric. White worked great for me on black/grey, hunter green, and even a medium tan. This pencil, a large table, and the right sized Omnigrid with the neon-green contrast markings saved my first quilting experience
Thanks, I'm going to get one of those with a couple of lead colors as soon as I can find it without $10 shipping fees.

I used an adjustable hemming fit for most of the long seams.

Finished, except for running cord through the end channel, attaching the draft collars and making a stuff sack. I'll have to get the model to go to his own bed first though.

Great quilt ( I'm a little jealous or your adjustable hemmer though). I just looked at your thread now with the exact same colour combo of fabrics sitting on my desk to do almost exactly the same quilt. Great minds n all that

    Thanks for the kind comments.

Scotty, the adjustable hemmer was about $7 on ebay. It takes some practice to get working correctly, and requires a light tension on the fabric as it enters. That means that you'll want some scraps to practice with, and also that you cannot use it if the two layers are of different lengths. I took out the lengthwise differential by prestitching a pleat into the first few inches at each end, leaving the rest of the seam with identical length layers. That works because the lengthwise differential was calculated that way. The widthwise differential is calculated radially and couldn't all be taken to the sides but had to be accounted for across the whole seam, so was unable to use the adjustable hemmer for those seams and had to hand roll them. Simultaneously rolling and pleating those seams was a royal pain. The next differential UQ I make will have the outer layer darted or pleated to match the inner layer width before the two layers are joined together.

The Argon is a beautiful fabric, although slippery. Pinholes don't quickly disappear but you can carefully stretch the fabric on the diagonal to help them disappear. Better to avoid them completely where possible, especially outside the seams where down will be. Wonderclips ftw.
