I can relate to that - NW Pa (Kinzua area) is my hometown area but I only visit during 3 seasons and winter isn't one of them :>)

I do love a good winter over nighter, to bad my coon hound (Baxter) doesn't agree. Where in PA was this trip?

This one is just in the mountains around my hometown do a lot of trips in the Penns Creek area though

hey guys my wife and I are live in jersey shore and her parents are in the Mifflinburg area. we've been wondering if there are any recommended 1-2 night loop trails in that area. it would make it more convenient for baby sitting. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thanks.

You have a bunch of choices but my top 2 picks would be either Loyalsock Link loop, which is 24 miles if you do the connector trail or 17 if you start at the loop itself. My other recommendation would be the Old Loggers path which is a great hike not to difficult easy climbs and a couple of nice views and of course Rock run. the OLP is just under 30 miles but you can take some cut off routes to shorten the hike. PM me if you want more info.

Penns Creek isn't far from mifflinburg I have a cabin up there so I have a soft spot for those mountains.. You can check out the purple lizard map of bald Eagle state forest

I read about the old loggers path in backpacker mag. Have to make it there this year.
