If you drove to Adams gap, you went right by turnipseed!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Hmmm. I remember seeing the sign but the gate was closed. I wondered if there was another route to get there. Guess not!

Did you not see the big parking lot on 281 just before the road to Turnipseed Campground? If you park there, you can walk into Turnipseed--it's only a couple hundred yards, if that far.

Yeah I saw it just didn't know how far it was. Only way I've been there was coming from the trail.

The hang is not at Turnipseed by the way, it is about a mile south on the Chinnabee Silent Trail at Cheaha Falls. You just park at the lot on 281, or at the pull-off on 600A (closer)

Yeah, they close it from December to March. But the spot we camp is an easy walk from the parking lot on 281. Not towards Turnipseed though. If you park there on 281, then cross the road and walk the gravel road about .5 miles and you will pick up the trail to the Cheaha falls. Follow that and you will find the spot.

Really looking forward to this hang, but not positive I can make it yet. I'll know in about a month.
