Since I posted that I have laid in my hammock strung up using the excess webbing as the toggle and it really seems to work well for me. I am looking forward to hearing how the tests go. =)

I tried it and I must say that it works very well! It's a little harder to pull the folded strap material out of the MSH but that might just be part of the learning curve.

Yeah i found that it was harder to undo as well. Makes sense. But for me it was not all that difficult to undo, you just cant slide the toggle out like it you are using an aluminum bar or arrow shaft like toggle.
