    Clark storage and wet shoes

Hi, heading out on the AT in March with my NX-250. I've spent many nights with my trail runners in one of the pockets, but never below freezing.

My question: what do you do with wet shoes when temps are expected to go below freezing? Bag them, and put them in a pocket? Does enough heat bleed thru to keep them from freezing? How about your wet clothes from hiking-same thing?

I love the storage pockets, but have not thought out this particular situation.

    Thanks!

I always bag then and throw then in the hammock with me. I find at that temp the space between you and the quilt created by the shoes isn't good. I do the same with clothes. I've had them come out dry in the morning depending on how wet they are.

Thanks. I think you're right with the shoes inside. I certainly have lots of time to experiment! Cheers!

I agree 100% but would add; best to build a small fire and dry out any wet clothing, boots, or shoes before bed. Moisture in a hammock on a multi day trip in cooler weather can lead to big trouble and sleepless nights.
