Excellent post! I am jealous that you get to live on 120 acres in MN!!!

AND...the SHT is about 30 minutes from your house! Dang!

Hello, Mr. L. Glad to see you and R out there. We don't get out in the winter for overnights too much. That will be changing as N gets a little older, though.

Good to see you found the forum. It can be a great help.

There are several great options for breakfast ranging from Oatmeal to hash brown casseroles. Google "scout breakfast recipes" for some suggestions. There are also some scout cookbooks that you can buy if you're interested.
I'm thinking the hash brown casserole will be the first experiment, thanks!

.those snow shoes look pretty serious and I wouldn't expect anything less seeing that you are from MN. What kind are they?
They're Vikings which were made in Cadillac MI from 79-89. We couldn't find my son's pair, so we borrowed those from a neighbor. I'm using some good sized Redfeathers.

Yeah, that is one of the great things about living up here. I work in Duluth, and jump on part of the trail during my lunch breaks in the summer. I've hiked the Jay Cooke to Martin Rd. 40 mile stretch and plan on picking away at the rest of it over the next several years.

I usually end up with a couple miles of trails by the end of the winter, but the snow is really deep and sugary this year, so not as much blazing going on. So far I've got just over a mile.

That's super secret Twig code that hasn't even been cracked by those in Sector 7. Let us know if you want to join us some weekend A.O. We plan on making this a 52 week event!

    Again, thanks everyone!
