I am a member at a few other forums but rarely post anything because someone will usually have something negative to say. If you post a pic of a fish you caught or a deer or turkey you got or a backpacking trip you went on. Most people will be nice but you can always count on someone being negative. I am shocked at how nice and helpful EVERYONE is on this forum. I'm new to the hammock thing and I'm learning so much from you guys. My hat is off to all of you at Hammock Forums for being the best of the best. Thanks!

I think it's because everyone here is so well rested we are not cranky.

The folks here are nice not only on the internet. Check out the "outings" subforum for trips planned in your area. You will find that they are just as nice in person!

I mostly found my way here from random research, but Shug's videos definitely inclined me to sign up after lurking the forums for a while.

The outings, especially the Frozen Butt Hang, seems like a grand time! You do get the sense of a healthy brotherhood or fellowship in this corner of the internet.

Plus one on everything said on this thread so far. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting anybody in here in the flesh yet but I am sure at some point a few of our paths will cross. Much shared information goes on in here everyday and it's been very rare that I've ever seen anything in print that is negative in any way. Yes the moderators do a great job and eliminate that type of behavior ASAP, but for the most part this is a well behaved group of folk that I'm proud to be a part of...

The Spring MAHHA would be a good start. I went to the fall MAHHA and loved it.Great people all the way around.

I agree entirely. I'm a member of a few other forum sites as well and none compare to the helpfulness and genuine friendliness I've experienced on this site. It's so refreshing!
