I didn't have the money at the time, but saw quite a few down comforters at the local GoodWill stores....one had 4 of the same comforter, each with Ralph Lauren, and each did not have a tag, but had feathers leaking out.....and another had a 550 fp down comforter... I was thinking...until I feel I am comfortable harvesting the down, would it work to "stack" down blankets on top of each other, on top of my synth summer UQ, below my hammock?
Yep, most definitely can work. Just be careful not to compress the down between the UQ and hammock body. You may need to beef up the suspension too, as it may weigh to much for the short cord.
Rock on with it brother. You will probably have to make a few adjustments to get it right because of the weight of the comforters. Would someone be nice enough to lay in the hammock while you take a few measurements? That would help tremendously in my opinion.
