What is a good starting width on an 11ft Tablecloth hammock?

I have a 132 x 90 (yes, I now realize it is 10.5' when all hemmed) pair of table cloths. 90 inch width is too big. What is a good width to start with? I can always make it narrower, but "you can't unring the bell".

60" seems unnecessarily narrow. I am 6'2" and 300lbs. Any ideas?

I will be doing channels, continuous amsteel loops or whoopies directly attached, haven't decided. What is the minimum I can make the channel so as to keep as much length as I can?

I think I did 2-inch channels, and I wouldn't go beyond 60 or 62 inches in width - otherwise you got a lotta floppy material. Some people like that, but I consider it added weight.

I was considering a knotty mod to help with the floppies.

Did you double roll the channel? That would be 6" per side, right?

Im 6'1 and 275 and I have an 11ft x 72" tablecloth that I love. I did put the knotty mod on it and have no problems with it.

I don't even know what double roll the channel means, so I guess I didn't. I just folded it over and triple stitched it.

I think what he meant is basically like a hem but wide enough to be a channel. Fold/roll material twice over so that you have 3-4 layers of fabric, depending on how much folding you did. First fold, around 4-5 inches of fabric, then a second fold in half, then stitch the edge for channel, double stitching or triple.

Why the need to chop down the width? Trying to cut weight?

I love my 132x90 tablecloth hammock. It's my lounger. I'm 6'2'' 280lbs.

As far as channels, I'd say as short as you can make them enough to run three lines of stitching on the hammock and still be able to fit your chainlinks or whoopie slings or whatever you're using through the channel.

Sounds like overkill, and I would want the hammock to be as long as possible, not shorten it.
