There's a hang going on now in Mt. Hood area... I was hoping to go but circumstances did not allow. Most of the Oregon crowd is probably afk this weekend.

Thank you, I read through the post. Mt Hood is a long way for me. Do have any of these group hang down in the southern part of the state? Hope every one has fun up there!

seems many of the folks who were interested in the mt. hood hang are actually from Washington... no idea about south OR hangers.

I am located south west of Medford in the Mythical state of Jefferson on the coast. I frequent the Trinity Alps almost monthly for trips (east of Redding). There was some brief discussion last spring about trying to get some HF members together for a "true" Norcal hang. Perhaps it should be readdressed. I was just up there around Christmas for a quick 3 nighter. It was perfect backpacking weather, however quite unusual with the lack of Snow. I don't have much experience around the Cave Junction or Grants Pass area other than just driving through but I am only about 3 or 4 hours away...

My parents live in GP, so if you ever do plan something down south, I might be able to come down for it. I am planning to do the Rogue River Trail either in Feb or Mar...seems like there's lot of options down there.

I have done most of my hiking camping in the Sky Lakes wilderness. I'd dd 1 trip down to the Trinities last summer and really enjoyed it. I have never done a group hang thing so I don't know how they go. I'm open for anything in this area, but would like to learn explore more of the Trinities, Marbles, or Russian. Early spring time is great in the Sky Lakes, Cliff lake in the 7 lakes basin is my favorite. Late spring into summer the Mosquitos can get pretty bad.

What about the North Umpqua Trail?

I plan to hike some of the North Umpqua Trail in April or May. Would you be interested in that hike?
