I'm good for whatever date you guys decide is best. And I have no problem with a youngster in camp. Just hope he doesn't mind being around a bunch of old men. Lol

He is definitely no prima donna, has been hunting and camping since he was small, and I feel would be an enjoyable companion in camp. I don't want to step on any toes, so if anyone does not feel comfortable with a youngster in camp, please let me know in a PM and I will make other plans. I feel certain that this group is the perfect group to bring him to the enlightened side of camping.

Checking the long range forecast I don't see much chance for serious snow, but it is looking like it might be a little "chilly"! (Think Shug chilly!!) I don't think it will make any difference to us if we postpone for a week, but we're willing to give it a try if everyone wants to.

    Ecstatic Grampa!
    Congrats Grandpa,
I think it's really nice he wants to go winter camping with us.
I look forward to meeting him.

The weather forecast is really not improving much but lets keep hoping it changes.
There will be a lot more to do if we can get a couple famous Colorado Bluebird days.
Snowshoeing on and around the lake, the trail to Chicago Creek or the road to the top of Mt Evans all will be a lot more fun if we are not fighting the elements.
I don't mind 0F or colder nights I just want the days to be sunny with minimal wind.
I am still packing for this coming weekend.

Thursday morning lets check the forecast and call it or reschedule for next weekend.

We've been discussing the ascent on Mt Evans and the weather in PM's check your inbox.
Snowing, cloudy and windy up there right now I think we are going to stay in basecamp and waitout the weather.

The new assent date is Feb14,15,16th.

I agree. I am slowing packing the SUV.
Looks like we will have a full moon.
Might be fun to do a moon light hike up Mt Evans road.

I'll move the weather forecast to this page for easy access.
