    treating down with DWR

I see this is a new(ish) offering from many manufacturers.....

Has the down just been treated with DWR or is it something else ?

If its just DWR can someone with regular down treat it themselves to accomplish the same effect?

    thanks

It is indeed a DWR, apparently quite effective and long lasting. The folks at Underground quilts, for example, have a sample in a jar of water which they periodically agitate. I think it has been months and the down is still floating high and dry on top of the water.

A while back, we had s discussion here about how effective it might be, and how much weight it might add, to treat your own down. I have not yet seen the results of any testing:
