    Help me decide, please?

    Hello,

I have now taken my Freebird out for a few spins (setting up and hanging for a couple hours) since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and last night after hanging in -18˚C weather for a bit, came to the conclusion that I probably will not go camping in these kind of temperatures; I'll keep it at anywhere around -5˚C (20˚F) and up.

So, now that I know that, I feel more confident in getting the tarps I'm drawn to, but I don't know what will fit my needs best.

In saying all that, I'm trying to decide between the AHE Shangri La and the MacCat Standard (I also like the idea of the micro for less difficult weather). I know the Shangri La's ridgeline is longer, but what else should I be aware of?

Am I right to think, I could use the deeper end and bend in the corners as doors if needed?

Does anyone have experience with both tarps?

    Help!

I have no experience with either although I am expecting my AHE tarp (toxaway) here soon. I strongly advise you to read the sub forums for each vendor and pay close attention to the comments about customer service and responsiveness. I think this may be of great value to you in making your selection. (It was for me anyway).

The maccat deluxe over the std is worth considering if you are leaning that way. Great tarps.

Thank Missy Lou! I was actually eyeing your 10' Hanger.... I'm a bit of a minimalist, thru-hiker type.

Is that your Roaming Gnome under there? If so, could you tell me if it's a 10' or 11'?
