I agree about the 12 foot ridge line being excessive. I got a HG standard (with doors), and 12 foot ridgeline; massive and compromised in getting a low pitch (hammock webbing gets in the way). I ended up getting an UQ protector rather than another tarp.

If I was to go again I'd get the 11 foot in camo
My HG tarp is still the cat's pyjamas however. So light!

Not to go too far off topic, but how easy is it to fix a hole in a CF tarp?

For a small hole or tear, just slap some cuben fiber tape on it and it is good as new.

Haven't punctured mine, but it's supposed to be super-easy. Duct tape sticks to it in a pinch, but I got a little roll of Cuben fiber tape from Dutch. 3' long, 1" wide roll weighs .14 ounces, so it's in my repair kit along with some Tenacious Tape.

yeah, super easy to patch. mine even came with a small piece of cuben tape.
fwiw, the ridge line is actually made using tape (not sewn), so tape is plenty strong

My camo HG Winter Palace with 12 foot ridge line arrived in the mail today- this thing is insane!
I would get the same tarp again but I might opt for a 11 foot ridgeline as I think it would get used a little more often and be a little better for nice weather hangs-
Don't get me wrong- this thing is awesome for the wet weather but it is big!!!
