    Help with gathered ends

My 10yr old daughter just received her Crinkle Taffeta table cloth. Already DIYing her own hammock isn't that great? We are going to use whoopie slings and was wondering how to attach them. Do we just larks head them on after we gather the ends or do we still need to use a continuous loop? We don't have a sewing machine so won't be using a sewn channel. If there is a thread on this please link me there . Any advice please thanks.

I'm afraid I have no experience of whoopie slings but I am making no-sewing diy hammocks from ripstop nylon. I simply whip the end and larksfoot a loop of climbing cord (5 or 6mm) to attach to my suspension (ridgeline)

Here is what I do and I've been hanging every night for a month and no slippage. It's on a double layer tablecloth. The problem with just a larks head is that it slips a little each time it's weighted. I put another wrap on the Amsteel continuous loop around the larks head making it 2/3 of a Prussik knot. This extra loop fills the gap left on a regular larks head and keeps it from slipping. I find whipping the ends completely unnecessary using this method.
The yellow is a ridgeline to keep the hang consistent.

Ok so if I got this right you use a continous loop and attach the whoopie to it?
    thanks

    Yep, that's it.
That way it can be packed with the loop still on it so you don't have to gather the ends every time. Also provides a water break in case of rain.

Great Thanks Thumbs. I'm going to try it this way.
