    Velcro on mesh

I am thinking of making a bug sock with Velcro closures since I can't sew to make channels for shock cord. Has anyone tried to glue Velcro to noseum mesh, or will I have to hand stitch it on.

It's not so much a question as to whether you can glue Velcro to noseeum but whether you really, really want to.

Velcro sticks to anything it comes in contact with. It's going to catch continually on all that noseeum. Maybe the first time it catches it won't leave an area that is damaged but after a few times it sure will!!

If you want to see what happens when Velcro and noseeum are used together, take a scrap of noseeum and play with it with a small piece of Velcro.

Hand sewing a channel for shock cord is really easy if you can't find someone to run a machine stitch line for you. I'd suggest you do that rather then use Velcro.

Thanks for that. My sewing machine just isn't working properly right now. I may can get someone to sew me one.

I completely agree with TOB and hand sewing a channel would be considerably easier than hand sewing the velcro.

I tried making a top cover for a hammock and ended up removing the Velcro as it was seriously damaging the mesh.
