Cool need help choosing first uq

I am new to hammock and am looking for my first under quilt. I need something that will take me down to 30 degrees or so and also needs to be able to compress to a reasonable size for backpacking. I have had a hard time finding a lot of options. I am using an ENO double nest hammock, which I reall like. But there seem to be a lot of people that don't care for the accessories that eno makes. Seems like a down 3 season would be best. For example, the Foyle from underquilts.com seemed like a really reasonable option. I'd like to try not to spend more than $200, with less being better. Can anyone point me in a direction?

If I were starting over my first uq would be a 20* partial length quilt. (HG Phoenix, WB Yeti, among others) This is my most used quilt, fits well into a UL scheme for a wide range of temperature/weather conditions.

    You're on the right track.

The three season Warbonnet Yeti would be a good place to start. It is within your price range and packs very small/light. It is a partial underquilt so you will need to use a pad of some sort to keep your feet warm.

+1 on a 20* 3/4 UQ. Very versatile - I've used mine in temps from 70 degrees to 10 degrees.

I have several down UQs and they all pack down real well.
Check the Vendors Section on here and peruse the options. You will find gear better than what ENO offers in my opinion.

I have eno's synthetic uq and it really doesn't keep me warm at all below 40° and is somewhat bulky. So in my opinion i would not suggest eno's uq...

Thanks guys for the great info. I have started checking those ones out. All seem like much better options than anything that is mass produced that I have been able to find.

So I'm guessing that 3/4 length is around 50 inches long? I am of a rather small stature (for back packing standards)- 5'6". I was comparing these options to the Foyle from underquilts.com becasue the Foyal was 60 inches long, which would leave me using only a very small pad along with my 20 degree sleeping bag (maybe in the hot Georgia summer months) and still probably would pack down smaller than a full length UQ. Does anyone have experience with these quilts? My wife has even said that she would help me finish one if I bought one partially done to save myself some money.

    PS: loved you video Shug
