Absolutely! I have a DIY SF I made at 11X10 and have had it down to 22-23F in wind. I hunkered it down to a few inches and piled pine straw to provide more blockage. I was VERY comfy and no underquilt - just a ccf.

Blocked wind too well - had some frozen breath the next morning on the inside.

Bottom line, it is a great winter tarp.

I just purchased a SF and used it for the first time last weekend. It was my coldest hang at 12 degrees and it was one of my most comfortable nights. The doors block wind but as everyone else said, it doesn't add warmth, per se, but rather greatly reduces wind chill. Look for top and under quilts if you need more warmth.
I love the SF btw. I wouldn't hesitate getting it.

With the Superfly (or similar tarp), you have a good chance of staying at the outdoor temperature.
Without it, be prepared for wind chill-like temps.
This is a great way to describe it.

SF is a great tarp, it does help allot. As bonus, when its warm you can open up the doors Or place in porch mode.
Best Purchase I have made for my joys of sleeping in a hammock.
