Hi, the thing i did differently is the seem to attach the 2 pieces together. I have showed this also in the video. I think it will hold better.
Due to that seem being a continuous piece of webbing with loops on the end, I can put a lot of tension on it when tying it out, without any fear of anything ripping.
Also the curves as the bottom, I did those by hand, just measured the start and end point and height, and then by hand cutting it. Not like some other people have done with guides, bended poles, etc.
Otherwise I followed the guide pretty much.
Good luck with yours ! It's definitely worth it :-)

My biggest worry is making the cuts on the tarp. sewing and things like that i'm ok with. I just don't want to mess up the cutting.

how long did the tarp take u to make?

This morning I just ordered what I needed to make a winter tarp. Some 1.1 and 1.9 for a new winter hammock and the fabric needed to make a winter top quilt and under quilt from DIY Gear Supply. I am getting the Cllimasheild from Thru Hiker. Should have everything I hope for this weekend to get started on it. My next plan is a tarp tent material from DIY Gear Supply what I need to make there Bivy and a summer hammock with sewn in bug net. Had a good morning with Pappyamos yesterday and with his help I am ready to get some serious DIY done in the next month and a half with some camping in between.

    And here some weights:
    - Hammock complete setup: 1500 gram / 3.3 pounds
    - Tarp without alu stakes: 1000 gram / 2.2 pounds
    - Tarp with alu stakes: 1200 gram / 2.6 pounds

@ atrane21, around 4 to 5 hours, and then on top the glue / drying time.
Making those cuts was also what made me doubt for a very long time to start with this, but then i said something like f**k it...
Doing it loosely by hand turned out to be just find, as long as you keep a certain angle / bow going.

@ WV, about 5 cm (2 inches) on each side in the width. In the length about 2.5 cm (1 inch).
Pleats, that was the tricky part I under estimated. In the end decided to divide the width into 3 pieces, so 4 pleats.
1 on each corner, and then the other 2 in the middle so it was divided in 3 pieces.
In the length, I figured only 1 would be enough, also dividing it into 3 pieces, but no pleats in the corners.
Laying in it, it gets slightly tight, but not that much that it would be really compressed.

What helped was to sew in the extra edge and put the pleats on that part, and then the extra edge I sewed normally on the hammock.

@ paddles, good luck, curious about the outcome :-)
