    Snipe Mod

I decided to make a simple and absolutely unnecessary modification to my Snipe hammock. Large cord locks replaced with Mini cord locks (weight change: 10g to 2g). 1/8 shock cord replaced with 3/32 (I think)(weight change: 16g to 8g). Total savings of 16g.

Not that I typically count grams, but I was curious nevertheless.

Another benefit I think is that the large cord lock at the head end no long seems to rub against my head or beanie. That never happened often, but its nice having a leaner look and feel.

I did the same thing on my snipe.
I thought the shockcord and locks were too big for the job they do.
I didn't do a weight check. Thanks for the weight comparison.

    Thats cool fishwater.

Its probably silly but I love how this feature looks on my hammock and I don't know why.

I do like having the adjustability and the cinched ends definitely give it a more technical look. They also provide a good benefit when using the hammock as a chair- keep the bottom loose and relaxed under the legs and the upper end cinched tight to support the head.

i did that right away on mine, too...but only 1 cordlock near the hammock ends, and i put a plastic button on the 3/32 s/c on the other. now i just put a stopper knot on it. one cordlock does the same job..

Switched over the cord locks. Waiting on some thinner shock cord. Great mod!
