Florida Hangers

Hey everyone,

I've been down and out for a while (suffered another setback recovering from my tick-borne illness) but am doing somewhat better now. Anyhoo, as I was trying to get caught up on some topics here I noticed that there seems to be more and more hangers from Florida here on HF. I was curious to know if any of you would be interested in having a hangout here. We could compare our rigs (sorry if that didn't sound right

), and discuss overcomming the unique challenges posed by our bug infested, humid, sometimes hot/sometimes below freezing, relatively flat state. Any takers?...

PS... who censored my tagline? It was A$$ as in donkey, not as in arse. Donkey just doesn't sound right

New filters automatically filter 'dirty' words. Upside is now you can type any ****ing **** that you **** well want to ****ing type.

No fair! You wait till I leave Florida? You should be able to get a pretty good hang going with all the hangers down that way these days. Glad to see you back on the forums T-back!

Sounds good to me. In summer we need no insulation, and winter, 3 season just about makes it at times

Sounds interesting. I'm over in Brandon most of the time -- (willingly) chained to the folks' homestead, but I could perhaps break away for a short hang. Need to get a full setup first, tho.

I have a lot going on in a busy schedule, but it you make it within 4 hours of NOLA I will go if I can. Pensacola is 3 hours from my doorstep. Nice beaches, but not a lot of trees.

It's good to be able to post again! Of all the things I've lost to this illness, I miss my mind the most!

I'm glad there is some interest in a get together. Any thoughts on a tentative date?

Blackwater Forest is not to far from Pensacola. This is where the Florida Trail turns North to reach the Alabama Connector Tail to the BMT and on to the AT.
The Forest is one of the most beautiful sections of the FT. It would be a long ride for me but there seems to be quite a few of us here in the Tampa Bay area. Maybe we could carpool up there.

With my schedule right now I don't want the location chosen because of me. In the process of getting the ok to take a month off next spring and trying not to rock the boat. But if I'm free I'll go.
