WTB: Double boot for Rainier climb

Probably a long shot, but you never know! Looking for a double boot in decent condition without having to sell a kidney or my firstborn to finance it...

Size in the range of 10.5-11, 43.5-44.5 (US and Euro sizes, depending on the brand/model)
Models I am most interested in are, in order of preference:
    La Sportiva Baruntse
    Scarpa Phantom 6000
    La Sportiva Spantik
    Koflach Arctis Expe or Degre
    Scarpa Omega or Inverno

I'd also consider just a shell and I can pick up a set of liners separately.

Let me know what you have and how much. Probably best to PM to keep any possibility of price debate out of the thread?

My guide service requires a double boot for climbs before July 1, which mine is is mid June, so... I tried to convince them to allow a higher end single, but no dice. I can find singles in my size at relatively OK used prices all over the place, but no doubles. A used 10.5 double boot is a scarce beast as far as I can tell.

    Thanks!

Maybe not as long a shot as you may think. Check out #7: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=953012

This isn't my stuff nor do I know who it is. I have bought and sold stuff on that site without incident. Hope that helps.

Have you checked on Geartrade.com? There are some used Spantiks in your size and some Baruntses (not in your size). Best of luck!

By the time my wife and I had returned from running errands yesterday, the Spantiks had sold! :P

    The search continues.

You could always rent a pair from the guide service. Who are you going with, AAI, RMI, IMG?

I am going with AAI. I would prefer to buy the boots though, as I am pretty certain I can put them to use up here in WI during the winter. And if not, I resell them and take a little hit which would be similar to the cost of renting.
Bonus is if I buy them, I get to thermoform the liners to my feet (depending on which model exactly).

My first Rainier climb was with AAI, I use to live a few blocks from them. I also took a the mountaineering course with them. They're a great outfit. I'm actually friends with some of their guides.

I bought Koflach degrees and the Intuition Denali liner. The current model now comes with Intuition liners. At the end of the day buying used plastic boots then buying after market liners might not be too far off from a new pair of Degrees. My liners have a season left and I'll have to decide on replacing the liners or buying new Degrees.

Maybe we can hook up while your out here.
