    Big and Tall Hammockers

So me and my buddies do an overnight float trip every spring. This year my brother is coming with me and he is 6'-9" tall and prob 260lbs or so. He has never slept in a hammock and i was thinking about trying to pick up an XLC on here if one is available. Any other of you tall hangers recommend a a hammock for someone 6'-9". Thanks for the help

I'm not quite that big but I'm a big fan of Wilderness Logics Night Owl.

    big an tall

I think that the XLC would be great and looking to buying one. I am 6'7" and about 245lbs. I have a original Black Bird. I talked to Brandon many times before buying it and he stated that if it didn't fit he would take it back. It is just a little small but not bad so I think that the XLC. Spent many nights in the original.

You might look at "ticket to the moon" hammocks as they have some oversized hammocks as well.

well most vendors on here I am sure can make a hammock for whatever size you want. I suggest skip all 10' hammocks. I am 6' and I find them tight, esp in shoulder(225lbs). see if you can find someone close to you and try laying in an 11' hammock, double layered anything 1.9 and over would be good. check out dream hammocks fabric and comfort pages. you will notice different widths as well in the material. I have heard on here of 12' hammocks as well and again most vendors can make them for you.

Matt, PM me your phone number. He can use my Dangerbird, it's a 11ft double layer 2.3/2.3 and 72 inches wide.

I'm 6'1 so I have no idea what hammock to recommend but I will say this. I bought an 11 foot hammock and it didn't fit very well under the tarp I had. Make sure if your expecting any bad weather that his tarp covers his hammock. I do a lot of float hanging in the summer and weight is as much a concern so a big blue tarp from a hardware store would be more than enough. If you have a sewing machine in you home make a hammock it's super easy. I live 4 hours south of you if you ever want to come down to VA and do a float hang let me know, I have been trying for two years to get a hang together here but it never works out.
