I didn't think about leaving one attached for regular use, but you sure could. I'd go with the lightest carabiner I could get away with. And yes, if you clip a ridgeline organizer to it, it certainly is not going to move once you're in the hammock! I suspect you'll have to get out of the hammock or at least sit in the middle with your feet out if you want to reposition it.

On a separate note seeing as you have carabiners I am guessing you have nuts too, do you take them backpacking with you to hang one end of your hammock from a rock face? I have considered it but not sure if I want to pack the weight.
I've done this, makes for some interesting morning views.

I used tri-cams as they are more flexible than nuts so there's a better chance of finding the right gap (I wasn't rock climbing I just took a couple tri-cams as Yorkshire is covered in rocky out crops)

Awesome I keep wanting to do it but man they weigh so much. All I have is nuts, never used any of the new cams out there. Might just have to retire the nuts and get some cams just for hammocking. It's about time anyway they are getting to be about 20 years old or more. Sure wouldn't climb with them now. What brand do you recommend for the cams? I've been out of climbing for over 10 years.

Have you the old style hex nuts with drilled holes for rope to go through? I just cut the rope off so only the aluminium remains. If you find a suitable place to hang just thread your suspension through. Fairly light (ish)

Sort of, mine aren't hex they are more of a hollow banana shape with cable going through and labeled by size around the loop. I suppose I could cut the cable and put amsteel through since I am not planning on climbing with them anymore. For simplicity I just found a pic on the internet but these are very similar to the ones I have.

    Smart idea.

I suspect you could actually get away with a mini carabiner for this. For you engineers feel free to correct me on this. It looks like the pressure is acting much like the tension on an aluminum toggle.

I suspect a Dutch Titanium RL Biner would work perfectly.

I'm going to give that a try in my WBBB, thanks for the simple idea and photo.

Ah I see, those more modern ones are pretty small and a bit of a shame to waste. Old style ones can probably be had for very little of ebay/ climbing buddies as no-one really uses them.

More like these as they work from more angles
