Ditto. That's the same group that had the screaming drunk guy. You never know what you're going to get, where at least HF can vet for most of its members.

Yes, I'm signed up to the SW Ohio group, seems that it's all NOOBS. And even the leaders,,,, I question their routes & stuff.
I may someday join them on a hike just to see if my opinions are well founded or way off the mark.

I don't think it's the same meetup group that we ran into at OMS, but you take your chances with any group you meet over the Internet. I'm sure there are plenty of folks here who think our bunch is "unique".

Enjoyed the videos and the trip reports.I remember years back when Shug had contacted me about meeting him in the Linville Gorge to hike and camp with some folks he knew. I asked how he had come across these unknown folks I didn't know.We had been camping together most all our lives. He stated on the internet(I was a late interneter). I went, carrying extra weapons, meeting friends for life.

Extra weapons! Always a good idea!
OK, what I wanted to use on the hike last week but not enough snow, it was/is experimental but maybe has some merit:

Stay tuned for a vid from Poof, she day hiked the loop at Carvers today-what could have been.....
