    Storing quilts

How do you store TQs and UQs? Do they come with storage sacks?

Im going to store mine hanging in a well ventilated closet.
I guess down can be stored in a large breathable cotton sack... loosely... but I'm gonna hang mine when I get it.
Im pretty sure it comes with a stuff sack though.

Lots of good Ideas to follow I'm sure.

I have a few of those large tube hangers dry cleaners use to hang comforters. My down hangs in the closet on one of those.

Go to the dollar store, or Walmart, or Amazon, or wherever (they sell them everywhere) and get one of these:

The ones I got from the dollar store are much thinner and flimsier. I got a few from either Walmart or BedBathBeyond that were much higher quality but only $6 or $7 each. Don't spend much more than that - there's really no need to get the nicer ones, since you're not going to be hauling heavy laundry so it doesn't need to be heavy duty.

After a trip I hang the quilts up either out on the clothes line for a few hours during the day, or for a day or so in the garage to let them air out. Then I loosely stuff them into these mesh bags, and they go on a shelf in the closet.

I store mine in a king size cotton pillow case laid out across the top of my closet.

+1 on the Dollar Store laundry bags. Can't beat the price and they do exactly what's needed.

    Thumbs up

Since i dont have any extra closet space to hang them i store them loosely in extra large storage bins, uncompressed, my wife throws a dryer sheet in the bin with them, i have one tq and one uq per bin with room to spare

That's exactly what I use, I have my HG phoenix 40 and burrow 40 in one and my 20 incubator and 20 burrow in one, I then wrote on the nylon loop handle with a sharpie and have them hung from that in my gear room. I have my wife's set up the same way, it is very handy, stores great, and they are pretty cheap.
