    New Mexico Hangers

I didn't know where to post this as I am not a new member, just new to the area. I recently took a temporary job in Albuquerque so I will be here until May. I am looking for some places in the area to hike and hang and I'm hoping there might be some people on this site to help. I have heard that I should hike up the Sandia Mountain and take the tram back down, but then I also hear it's treacherous and people get lost frequently. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

    Bump

Still hoping someone sees this, maybe the lack of trees here makes for a lack of hangers?? How about southern Colorado?

there are definitely a few members from the Albuquerque area on this site.
I'm from the Santa Fe area, so as far as the sandia crest I'm really not sure.
But if you go north about 1 hour, you've got some a the nicest wilderness anywhere. there is the Santa Fe ski basin side of the Pecos wilderness. The Pecos side of it. The Jemez, near Los Alamos, and the san pedro wilderness near Cuba. All of them are pretty much all trees, except for above treeline sections of course. Priller (a member here from Rio Rancho) and I did a trip about a month ago, here a video link https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ckpacking+trip

You're welcome to PM me for more Info.

Awesome! Thank you... I'm actually staying in Rio Rancho and I'm off the next few days. I was thinking about driving up to Santa Fe to check things out at some point. I've heard some pretty incredible things about the area. Thanks again for the info and the offer
