Straps and rings

Hey guys,
looking for a little direction here. I'm in the process of converting my hh. I've got the light weight biners from REI, some rings from the local hardware store and some strapping that I cannibalized from a strap ratchet set. I like it. It's definitely quicker and more adjustable. Questions I have are, what do you guys think are better buckles or rings? Best place to get them. I think my rings are to small but they work. My straps seem a little soft as they tend to get twisted up and folded over each others as they go through the rings. Should I be using a more robust strap?

The system does work as I've slept a couple of nights in it in Northern MN but it doesn't seem to work quite as slick as what I've seen and heard described. I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments.

I think the cinch buckles are better but cost a little more. I've opted for rings from sling rings. Good enough for my needs since anything I do to one hammock I have to do to 3 others. The small sling ring is close to 2" Inside diameter so they are rather large.

I use 1" wide polypro straps. Perhaps if you have nylon straps that could be the cause of any issues with them.

I use Seattle ___ descending rings. Expensive, but lightweight and strong. Polypro straps from Ed Speer. And, STRONG, lightweight biners on the tree end. Works like a charm for me.

First center the tarp (in snakeskins), then clip one end of hammock to tree and adjust til the hammock is just right under one end of tarp. Feed the hammock out of the bishop bag to the other end, clip strap to tree and adjust. Clip, stretch, clip, tighten. Quick, quick
