    Jungle Gym

This is not a hammock stand. I'm building this jungle gym in my yard for the grand kids. i got an old wooden ladder and it was garage kept, but too dangerous for job. i attached a sketch. remember this is for the kids........

BUT if perchance, i were going to hang an 11 ft hammock (no saying i am as this is for the kids) what would be the minimum measurements for "X" and "Y" ?
I don't want the kids too high up on their jungle gym.

Remember this is for the kids because that's the kind of Pop-pop i am

I have a similar rig indoors, except no ladder involved. My Y measurement can be from floor to ceiling, but I find that I never go over 6'. My X measurement is about 13', room dimension, and I hang a Clark NX250, a WBRR, and anything else except my huge table cloth 11', which I hang from the ceiling. No reason the kids won't have a great time with it.

Try the Hammock calculator at http://theultimatehang.com/hammock-hang-calculator/ !

You can enter the length of the hammock or ridgeline, preferred sit height and weight in hammock. Then vary the distance between trees until the suspension comes close to the desired length, and you'll have X and Y
Still getting the hang of it

"Too dangerous for the job" ?....come on, admit it, those wooden ladders are just too heavy to use as we get older.
