I've seen threads talking a lot about which width of tree straps are best for protecting trees. I think I have found what I want to use!

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't leave a mark on even the softest bark! You all can use your 1" or 2" straps but I'm gonna be safe and use 12"!!!

I know right! I guess you could just use it only around the tree and then suspend the rest of your suspension off of that. Course the 12" probably lends its self to extra stretchage.
Plus I'm afraid that with a breaking strength of only 117,600 it probably wouldn't hold me.
Now Dutch needs to re-tool his Dutch clips for this new paradigm. 'Course at $14+ dollars per yard the market might be somewhat limited.

nice, heck at 12", you can make a tree swing anywhere you go, just tie a big U to a branch and sit in. My tree 'straps' are only 7/64" , works fine for me.
Hmm... maybe you could just use the webbing AS the hammock.
You would have to use a piece of firewood for the toggle on a marlinspike hitch.
